A Watchdog for Taxpayers

Independence is the core of our mission. We maintain a critical balance: serving as a vigilant watchdog to identify fraud, waste, and abuse, while acting as a collaborative partner to help agencies improve their operations. Our audits do not just find problems. They provide the solutions necessary to fix them, saving taxpayer money and ensuring county government runs more effectively.

Over the last four years that approach has produced real, published results, including:

A Performance Audit of Salt Lake County Fleet Management (2026). A review of how the county manages, maintains, and tracks its vehicle fleet.

Salt Lake County Clerk's Office Interlocal Election Agreements Audit (2024). A review of the agreements and processes behind how Salt Lake County elections are administered.

Proprietary Cards and Amazon Purchases (P-Card) Audit (2024). A review of how county p-cards are used for purchases, with a follow up review underway to confirm the recommendations are being put into practice.
