Modernizing Audit & Taxpayer Services

We are leveraging technology to do more with less. My office is currently implementing AI to make our internal audit processes more efficient, freeing up staff to focus on complex issues.

In September 2026, we took that a step further by securing an enterprise license for Claude, an AI tool, giving our team of auditors direct access to use it as part of the audit process. Used well, tools like this help our auditors work through information faster so they can spend more of their time on the judgment and analysis that only a trained auditor can provide, without cutting corners on the quality or independence of the work.

For the public, we have also rolled out new digital tools to simplify property tax interactions, including an Online Appeal Tracker and an online CRE renewal form, making government more accessible and responsive to your needs.

I will keep looking for the right technology, used the right way, to make county audits and taxpayer services more efficient without ever compromising independence or accuracy.
